We all get busy in our own lives doin’ our thing and often miss someone who really needs our help. You know it needs to be you when that certain person comes across your path.
Looking is a VERB
I really tried to teach my girls to always be on the lookout for people who needed help but weren’t asking for it. The kid with no winter coat or snow boots in Montana. The one who was living with zero heat. The one who had holes in their shoes or looked like they didn’t have extra clothes.
Helping is a VERB
Some people really think what’s going on with someone else is none of their business and that is entirely their prerogative to feel that way…and it true when we’re focusing on what we need to be doing to be successful. But what I really don’t think we’re going to get away with when it’s all said and done is the sin of omission. We saw it and chose not to help.
There are those people who LOVE handouts. Don’t enable those people. The ones I’m talking about are the ones who need it but aren’t asking for it and don’t want to accept it. Those are the ones who will do good things with the help you give them.
No Strings Attached
It is so vitally important in my mind we don’t ask for anything in return…especially financially. Ask for them to pay it forward when a person comes across their path someday that needs help.
Just do it
Just take the step. Do what you can and find help for what you can’t do. Never will you get to the end of your life and regret helping people who truly needed it.
Much love, Teresa
