Welcome! I have had many questions about my recommendations in several areas. Below I will give you a quick description and then my affiliate link to that particular product or company. Then you can take a look for yourself! 🙂 I don’t recommend things I haven’t personally used or read. I generally get my audiobooks from iTunes, but often times Amazon is cheaper so I’ll give you a link through them.
If you are a person who would like to start a blog, Bluehost has very inexpensive hosting. Their customer service is great. I especially appreciate the chat feature since I am often multi-tasking! 🙂
I have several areas of education and one of them is finance. I think it is very important for you to know how to run your money so it doesn’t run you! I highly recommend you subscribe to a highly acclaimed award winning blog on finance called makingsenseofcents.com.
She has numerous recommendations of making extra money also! If you have student loans or are going to acquire them it is important for you to learn some things about how to pay them off quickly. She also answers questions quite quickly. The list really is endless on what she offers here so I’ll stop myself here! 🙂
At the bottom there are a couple books on money I love.
I recommend many books for you to read or listen to. (I love audiobooks) I understand taking the time is hard when you’re already so busy, BUT I just want you to know….if I had taken the time to read or listen to many of these when I young I would’ve never had the messes I’ve had in my life. I still have one huge mess from 20 years ago!
If I had only taken the time out of my crazy busy schedule to read them….OH MY GOSH, my life would be so much better! I’m going to list all of them and keep adding as I think of more so keep checking back!

Yes! Keep me in the loop!
The Child Whisperer by Carol Tuttle is one of those books that has continued to be of great help to myself as well as my daughters. After teaching them about what this book offers in respect to different personality types they are also able to understand others far better.
Carol would most likely cringe at my over simplification, but this is how I remember each type. (We are all a primary of one and a secondary of another)
Type 1 is the extroverted fun loving one. When asked if they want to do something they will always run it through the grid of “Is this going to be fun?”
Type 2 is the introverted sensitive one. These beauties are very in tune with the feelings of other and the vibe of the environment.
Type 3 is the extroverted I’ll show you one. If you tell them they can’t accomplish something they are the ones to do it just to prove you wrong.
Type 4 is the introverted analytical one. Details matter to these guys. They will correct you on everything from your grammar to the actual color of red, or is it crimson, you are talking about.
The cool thing about Carol Tuttle is she explains in great detail what is very honoring to each type and what is very dishonoring. That is a big deal! We may be offending our kids over and over without even knowing it thus creating distance we really don’t want.
I have highly recommended this book to countless parents. The ones who read it thought it was mind-blowing!
The Five Love Languages are really like learning how to understand and speak your loved one’s language. When I asked my girls what love languages they were, one of them floored me! And it was one I definitely am not, so I really had to put some thought into it for the sake of making our relationship even better. This book combined with The Child Whisperer really does shed a lot of light on what some issues may be.
This one is the one for kids, but there are others if you’re curious 🙂
I’m a big fan of Brene Brown and the work she does on shame. Her books have taught me a lot about all types of relationships, especially parenting because our kids are battling shame all day long! If we know what it is and where it comes from we are far more likely to be able to intercede in that pivotal point so their shame voice doesn’t set up shop in their minds!! Here is a link to one of her talks for Oprah that I think is so valuable and will give you a taste of who she is and what she does: https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=brene+brown+the+anatomy+of+trust&view=detail&mid=DB8D5235CC4BF9426439DB8D5235CC4BF9426439&FORM=VIRE
And here are most of her books!! 🙂

Worthy of Her Trust is so important for guys and girls to read. If you have been on the receiving end of any kind of rotten behavior whether it’s cheating or not and the other person would like to repair the relationship this will show you exactly what to expect so you aren’t sitting around thinking this person really is making progress when all they’re doing is talking a big game. Wish I would have read this book in my early 20’s!
This is also for the one who really wants to make amends for what they’ve done. Let’s face it, we all mess up, right? It’s ok, but we still have a lot of work to do when we’ve hurt someone we love and want to win back. No matter what your circumstances you can apply these principles. Just use that glorious imagination of yours! 🙂
Why Does He Do That?: Inside the Minds of Angry and Controlling Men
More women are injured by their boyfriends or husbands each year than rapes, assaults, and accidents combined. I’ve met my fair share of women in a bad situation and have been there myself. Men are also on the receiving end of abuse so I really think this book could serve either gender. The principles apply either way.
If you have teenagers who have a desire to learn about this I would recommend this so they can see signs right away and also understand this all has to do with a thought process.

If there was ever just one book I would recommend to all people, but especially young people who haven’t been through enough in life to have learned the hard way it would be The Gift of Fear by Gavin deBecker. Gavin is touted as the nations leading expert in predicting violent behavior. Let’s face it, violence in our culture is everywhere. The chance your child will experience dating or domestic violence is far higher than we could ever imagine. This is a sobering article: https://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/10/23/domestic-violence-statistics_n_5959776.html
Rather than stick our head in the sand about it, why don’t we not only educate ourselves, but our kids as well. It’s one thing to go through this yourself, but it’s a whole other thing to watch your child be a victim. The Gift of Fear is a book I have begged my teenage and college aged clients to read! It reads like a thriller! He tells stories and then goes back through to show you what was missed. He also has a free resource called Mosaic that helps people in dangerous situations to determine how serious it is and how likely it is to escalate. Here’s the link: https://www.mosaicmethod.com/
Robin McGraw, wife of Dr. Phil McGraw has a website that is helpful for those in a domestic violence situation along with an app that is disguised as a news app, but really is a quick way to get help if needed without the abuser knowing. To learn more about the App: https://www.whengeorgiasmiled.org/aspire-news-app/To learn more about her project as a whole or to become more educated, visit: https://www.whengeorgiasmiled.org/
Audiobook: Gift of Fear
In Protecting the Gift from Gavin deBecker teaches us how to teach our kids to be safe in a dangerous world. Not one parent I know to got it right, including me, when asked how to keep them safe. This book is very helpful!!
I did not find and audiobook of Protecting the Gift.
Wouldn’t it be great if all people were emotionally healthy?! Our world would be so much better, but unfortunately we need to look at the cold hard facts. Facts don’t care about our feelings! Maybe you as a parent are in an emotionally destructive relationship. I’m not judging! I’ve been there myself. The sea of broken promises hoping he would get better turned weeks into months and months into years. It happens to the best of us and sadly, the kindest of us.
Whether you need these books for yourself in order to get well yourself, get out of a bad relationship to provide a healthier environment for your kids, or you just really want your kids to be educated about emotionally destructive people, many of the following books are for you!
The Emotionally Destructive Relationship by Leslie Vernick

My nutrition education is from Cornell University. I’m proud to say the author of The China Study and Whole was my main professor. The following books help a variety of issues you may be dealing with such as acne, weight loss, peak athletic performance, autoimmune diseases, vascular diseases & cancer.
Forks Over Knives DVD
For a lot of evidence-based targeted information, check out his free website: https://nutritionfacts.org/
Thug Kitchen (Disclaimer: They use the f-word all over. Recipes are great if you can handle the language)
YumUniverse Cookbook (great resource if you need basic education…and recipes)
If you have kids struggling with skin and weight problems or any other issues you and the doctors can’t seem to get a handle on consider taking a look at these. Although I’m not a fan of her new age approach, most, not all, of the stuff she recommends is scientifically based.
Thrive Fitness. This one is pretty helpful if you’re an athlete and want to be super clean about it.
I don’t know about you, but when I became a Christian I didn’t even know how to look something up in the bible! I was given a study bible from a friend and it really helped me understand what in the world was going on!! 🙂 All I knew was I needed God so I also began to read about God. The bible was still hard from me to read as a story and therefor grasp what He was like. I hope some of these help and if you have some books you have found helpful, leave me a comment and I will look into it.
PERSONAL GROWTH AND CREATIVITY
As I have said before, either you run your money or it will run you. So how do you do that? Well, here are some go-to books and the reason I say this is not because Tony Robbins is a finance expert. It’s because he has so much access to the big hitters in the finance industry! He spent years interviewing and even coaching them so he could put together complicated topics into simple books with clear plans. I even moved all my investments to Peter Mulouk’s firm and couldn’t be happier with my experience!
